It’s
always crucial for us to pick the best option we have whenever we are in a
situation that involves our money. Setting aside the impulsive buyers, most of
us even wait for weeks or even months to decide on what we will buy. This goes
for shopping as well. In this modern era, we can even opt to shop the
traditional way or the late online shopping craze that is happening in the
country. A lot of the local online competitors slowly showed up after Lazada
came into the picture while the online shopping trend begun in the Philippines.
Surprisingly, the local industry of Ecommerce in country was really struggling
prior to their arrival. Shopping online was actually a disregarded option for
most local online users then.
Before,
local online users prefer visiting local online classified websites when they
want to buy something in second hand condition. Usually, local consumers visit
traditional offline malls when they want purchase something that is brand new.
We were actually raised that way wherein we go to traditional offline malls
when we need to buy something. Picking online shopping over offline shopping
can save local online consumers more time and money. So why do we need to
choose online shopping nowadays? They can do online shopping wherever they find
most suiting for them. They can actually save more in gas expense since no
longer will they need to visit the mall's location. This is a shopping woe that
they wanted to solve for the local online customers in the country.
The
goal for them is to actually tap the untapped market online in the country. It
was simply hard due to the fact the only the minority of the population owns
their own credit card, which is the main payment method when it comes to
online. There's also a factor that most of us don't trust online transactions.
Majority of us are informed about online frauds and scams that other people
encounter when dealing in online. We are now entering the era in the
Philippines where Ecommerce is making a mark. In fairness to the Philippines’
Online Shopping Mall, it only took them a over a year to establish themselves
in the local Ecommerce. They just recently showed up on TVC on top local
channels in the country during its primetime, which shows how credible they
are.
How
were they able to come up with a solution to break the Ecommerce limitation in
the Philippines? They offered Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. to their customers as
an alternative payment method. Online malls usually don't offer this kind of
alternative payment method to online customers. Any online business finds this
payment method very risky from their end. With Cash on Delivery they are not
required to pay right away online. What makes this convenient is that customers
can pay them after their orders are actually handed over to them. Their
customers won't need to worry since they get to keep their money until their
orders are delivered. The reason for this is to ensure customers that they
won't be scammed if they deal with them.
