It
is always an argument between offline shopping and online shopping depending on
the local consumer. This has become a long debate for most of us and so far,
offline shopping made more sense to us in the past. However, things have
changed with the exponential increase of local online users in the country. Not
to the point, that offline shopping is no longer a factor for us when we want
to address our shopping needs. Honestly, shopping nowadays is made easier for
us since we can go for either offline or online shopping. The local consumers
get an upper hand since time of availability won't matter anyone. Their
lifestyle is just not fit for shopping during regular hours. Normally, these
are the people who work at night. They are only free when mall hours are
actually closed. This makes it hard for them to visit traditional offline
malls. These traditional malls are only visited during the time when they don't
have work. People who live this kind of lifestyle gets a hard time compared if
they work on a normal shift.
It's
now easier for them now that online shopping is available for addressing their
shopping needs. Online is now being migrated by offline businesses. This
shopping craze only started last year in our country. I strongly believe it
happened when Lazada arrived in the country. The Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall is one
of the online malls to offer huge selections similar to an online mall. You can
also check them on other South East Asia countries. Ecommerce started to rise
ever since they arrived in the country compared to the previous years.
Actually, their impact on Ecommerce can't be disregarded. Since there are no
competitions in the local online scene, it made sense for their move to launch
it in the country. However, the challenge lies on how they will entire the
local online users to try their website. Turning online visitors to online
customers were hard primarily because online payment is not highly regarded.
What makes it difficult for them is that their credit card and personal
information are exposed online.
What
makes it challenging is that majority of the population are not credit card
owners. It's probably one of the important factors on why it struggled in the
country for so long? This doesn't mean that local online users are not familiar
with online transactions. The problem with Filipinos is that we don't give them
a chance and we overshadow reward with risk. We just pull the plug once we
encounter these kind of website right away. Most of the time, we consider them
as a scam the minute we see them online. It's safe to say that combing these
two is a huge problem for online businesses in the market. It's great that this
online mall has solved these Ecommerce issues. Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. was
introduced to Lazada' local online customers as their alternative payment
method. This allows online customers to keep there before their orders arrived
at their doorstep.
