Lazada’s brave leap of faith to the Philippine e-commerce industry

Online websites can easily be mistaken for a flop if they’re not branded well. But what good is a successfully branded website if it cannot provide the customers services that are expected from them? Since some websites that are popular come highly recommended by different kinds of personalities, the room for failure is very little. Just one inconvenience can cause a whole ship to self deteriorate.

Websites that are just under the upper hand have better chances of blowing the minds of customers because no specific standards are set before any actual purchase takes place. Online shopping malls specifically Lazada was a very risky move. Why? Simply because it’s not a concept Filipinos are all too familiar to. Yes, there are millions of Filipinos who constantly go online, but not all of them actually prefer buying over the web instead of buying in established malls. But all the efforts obviously paid off as Lazada is now one of the most influential online shopping sites at work in the Philippines.

Though the market online shopping malls choose to sell to increased, still a number of Filipinos are left ignorant about this profound phenomenon. Let’s face it. The world is slowly being consumed by different kinds of technological devices. But I see our future progressing even more with the use of the internet. If the World Wide Web is given an opportunity to influence different production companies to make all types of activities available from literally the palm of their hands with cellular phones. If the power of the web is put to use by each and every person with access to some sort of device, imagine the evident growth it can impact on the e-commerce industry.

Lazada spread its love through simple genuine service. No bull, just plain efforts. They stuck with the standardized criteria that an online shopping must consist of but they put their own little twist to it by embellishing each process without really overdoing it. The payment process is available through either cash on delivery (which they are already popularly known for) or credit card. To add some spice to it, the delivery rates are at a minimum. The rates will depend on the place of delivery. If the total amount purchased by a customer reaches at least P1, 000 then the delivery services cease to exist. Also, from the day the item is received and paid in full by the buyer, he or she is given a warranty for 2 years by the manufacturer of the item ordered. Besides these already outstanding deals that come in one package, the customers are given 7 days to get their item refunded. If the items pass the quality team and the customer is proven not liable for any damages, any payment made in connection with making the return policy possible like the delivery fee spent for sending the package back to the ware house will be given back as well. There are other offers Lazada don’t deliberately publicize to add to the company’s element of surprise making customers wanting more.
