Aiding the Philippines’ E-Commerce Industry

There is no doubt that the e-commerce industry in the Philippines is experiencing a boom—now more than ever. As more and more consumers flock to the internet for their various whims and needs, so do a large number of online entrepreneurs. Now, there is already a wide selection of online shopping sites to choose from. One of which is Lazada Philippines.

My online shopping site

Just within a year after it started its operations in the country, Lazada Philippines has already been dubbed as the Philippines’ online shopping mall. This does not come as a surprise to me at all though since there are really a lot of things to love about this site.

As a shopper, I highly appreciate that it has everything that I need—from books to movies, electronic devices, the latest gadgets, the trendiest fashion items, and the most durable sports apparel. Name it and you can certainly find it here.

But more than that, I must point out that this site is not just a blessing to online shoppers like me. It also serves as a great help to the local e-commerce industry in many ways. Although I am not really an expert about this, let me share with you some of my insights.

Brings the latest gadgets to the Philippines
For one, Lazada Philippines is one of the firsts to bring to the Philippines the latest gadgets and other items. Some good examples here would be the Sony Xperia and the BlackBerry Z10. Before these gadgets became widely available in the Philippines, this site was among the first to bring them to the local market.

The same thing happened with the iPad mini and the iPhone 5. I remember there was a time before that I really looked forward to the local sale of these two gadgets. And this site was among the first ones to offer them even if they have not been officially introduced in the country. But just the same, the site offered original iPad mini and iPhone 5 products.

Promote local products

Still another way through which this site helps the e-commerce industry in the Philippines is through the promotion of local products. It is actually one of the very rare large sites that do this. Most of the big online shopping sites in the country offer international brands.

For instance, among the products for sale here are books from local authors. There are children’s books, literature books and even non-fiction works. There are hundreds of titles to choose from.

Aside from that, movies and albums from local artists are also for sale here. There are DVD and CD copies of the hit movies from the biggest stars in the country. In the same manner, there are also albums from local recording artists

Another good news is, all of these copies are original. So in essence, Lazada Philippines does not only support local products, it also fights against piracy which is a big problem in the country nowadays. By selling the local products at a cheaper price than what is usually found in the market, more and more consumers like me are encouraged to patronize them.
