Lazada Philippines: Ecommerce just keeps getting bigger

By now, it is hard to ignore the existence of Ecommerce in the country. Almost all online users are now open in shopping online. Before, it was exactly the opposite. No online user would immediately approve shopping online. First thing they ask: “Is it a reliable online store?” Scams and frauds online are everywhere. It is the reason why there are only a few online malls that dared to launch in the country initially.  Lazada is one of the reasons why the online shopping competition got tighter and Ecommerce started to be a popular option in the Philippines. As a matter of fact, Ecommerce was having a hard time in penetrating the local online market just a few years back. Online shopping was actually not a highly regarded option for most users in the past.

Majority of the local online users visit local online classified websites when they are looking for second hand items. Typically, customers would usually go to traditional malls if they want buy anything brand new. It can't be helped since it is part of our culture to visit traditional malls when we want to address our shopping needs. Surprisingly, we always forget that we can save more money and time in online shopping. Why does online shopping be an option for the local consumers? With online shopping, local online customers can shop wherever they may be. Customers will no longer need to visit location traditional malls saving them money on transport expense.

The Philippines' Online Shopping Mall wanted to fix this for the local online customers in the country. It's actually hard for any online mall to tap the currently untapped market in online of the Philippines. It was probably due majority of the population no owning a credit card, which is the most common payment method in online. There are still some questions on the reliability of online transactions. Online frauds and scams also happen globally, which we are all aware of. Good thing that Ecommerce now is starting to grow in the Philippines. It's really hard to imagine that Lazada has only been here for more than a year yet it contributed dearly on the Ecommerce industry.

As for the trust and credibility status, Lazada showed up on TVC during primetime at top local channels in the country. What solution did they come up with in the usual Ecommerce woes in the country? An alternative payment was offered by them called Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. As a matter of fact, most online stores or malls won't offer this kind of payment method. This payment method is risky for any online business. Customers are not actually required to pay up front. Instead, they can pay once their orders are delivered at their homes. They will only need to pay cash once they received their orders in real time. With this, customers won't need to worry about their money getting scammed. This is to eradicate the way of thinking of local online users about online malls as scams.
