A surprising change of pace in Ecommerce

In the early days of this modern digital era, people may find it Ludacris for someone to put up their business solely on online. Majority of us, may say that the market in online is still not sufficient and that while online users in the country is massive in numbers. Only a small fraction of it will even think of doing online shopping. However, things have changed drastically in the online scene. Ever since websites like Lazada came into the picture, other local online business were put to live as online shopping started to roll upwards. Ecommerce was a very unpopular online industry in the Philippines before they arrived in the country. Shopping online was actually a disregarded option for most local online users then. For local consumer who wants to buy second hand items, they usually visit local online classified ads. When it comes to seeking brand new items, local consumers usually visit traditional offline malls. It's pretty normal to see since most of us grew up visiting traditional offline malls when we need something. Time and money can actually be saved if only local consumers choosing online shopping over traditional offline shopping.

So why do we need to choose online shopping nowadays? They can shop online as they please, wherever that may be. Usual extra spent cash on visiting traditional malls will now be saved with online shopping. This is one of the customer woes that the online malls wanted to solve for the local online consumers. It was also a challenge for them on how they can tap the untapped market in online. It was simply hard due to the fact the only the minority of the population owns their own credit card, which is the main payment method when it comes to online. Having a culture that doesn't trust online transactions also has contributions to it. It makes it harder for online users to be convinced since online scams and frauds are just lurking around over the Internet. In the Philippines, online shopping is actually an industry that is on the verge to rise. They contributed dearly to the Ecommerce industry in less than two years of existence in the country.

They just recently showed up on TVC on top local channels in the country during its primetime, which shows how credible they are. What did they do to break the Ecommerce limitation in the country? Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. payment method as offered by them as an alternative payment. This payment method is very unconventional to be offered in online. It's actually very risky for a business to offer that kind of payment method. With Cash on Delivery they are not required to pay right away online. They only require customers to pay as their orders are handed over to them. Customers will be satisfied to know that they won't be scammed since they can keep their money up until their order arrived at their home. The goal of Lazada is to make sure that their customers can trust them with this payment method.
