LazadaPH: Why online shopping was hard before?

We all have been hooked in using the Internet nowadays. It only varies on how each use online to their advantage. While most of us commonly use it for work or school, majority of our online usage comes from Social Media or other online communication outlets.  Just recently, Ecommerce had joined the online arena. Most Shopping nowadays is more easier since we can now do it traditionally offline or thru online. The local consumers get an upper hand since time of availability won't matter anyone. To them, nighttime for them is their daytime to us. Probably they are the one set for night shifts in their work. Traditional malls are usually closed already by the time they are free. They really have a hard time visiting traditional malls. Traditional malls are only available to them when they don't have work. It's way harder for them if compared to people who work on a normal shift. Good thing they can now rely on online shopping to address their shopping needs. Most offline business are now launching it on the online platform as well. This only started to roll since last year in the Philippines.

Once Lazada arrived in the country, other online malls followed them. The Philippines' Online Shopping Mall is one of the very first online malls in the country. They are also available in other South East Asia countries. Lazada made a splash in the local Ecommerce market compared a couple of years ago where online shopping didn't exist at all It can't be helped to learn that they made a huge impact on the local online scene. It actually made sense to launch it in the Philippines since the competition is non-competitive. It's actually more on how they will convert the online users to become their visitors. Online payment is a problem for most people that are why it was harder for them to be lured. It is expected since majority of the population are non-credit card owners or holders.

It is just difficult for online users since they are expose their credit card and personal information online. People with credit cards in the Philippines are actually hard to come by. This has slowed down the growth of Ecommerce in the Philippines. This doesn't mean that we are not aware of online payment. Since we initially see risk, we don't give online malls any benefit of the doubt. Moreover, we just disregard online malls in general from first encounter. We just tag them as a scam right away. These two alone will be enough to convince any investor that it will be pretty challenging for them to put up their online business in the local online market. It's great that they have solved these Ecommerce issues. The Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall introduced an alternative payment method called Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. This allows local online users to pay only after they receive their orders and not upfront, which is the usual setup with online malls.
