Conventional shopping - no more!

We are nearing the end of doing some things traditionally. Take for example, addressing our shopping needs. We have solely relied on traditional malls whenever we want to shop. Although it is still fun to do the conventional shopping, there are some of us who prefer doing it differently. It can’t be blamed since going to traditional malls requires us to sacrifice our time and energy. Good thing that online shopping is available for us. Most of us may have probably noticed that shopping online is exponentially becoming popular in the Philippines. Just a couple of years ago, shopping online was a risk to most of us a couple of years ago. One reason is that online and offline scams happen to often in the country. This made online transaction look very bad to most of the people online. Local online classified websites were the premiere local website for mostly local online users in the buy and sell industry. Unintentionally, it helped the local online mall's arrival in the country.

A marketplace community was eventually born thanks to these local online classifieds. During the time online classifieds were unavailable, local online users didn't know where to go when they want to buy something online. It was just used mainly for pricing comparison of items consumers want to buy. It slowly showed how Internet be diversify by online users to maximize its purpose. These online ads website became an online place for local online users to buy and sell. Local online users deal with third party resellers, unlike in Ecommerce. Final deal happens offline most of the time. Group buying type of websites also influenced local online users. They guided the people for the arrival of Ecommerce in the country. When they arrived in the country, local online users already have experience in online dealing. Online shopping was still considered since the reward customer's will get beats the risk. A lot of convincing deals was offered by group buy websites, which can't be found anywhere.

Prices offered by them were at rock bottom that it is too hard to pass on. A year ago, the Lazada Online Mall was launched in the Philippines. It is an "Amazon" type of venture present across South East Asia. Rocket Internet owned by the Samwer-brothers supports them. Lazada Online Mall made an impact in Ecommerce thru their flexible payment methods. With so many payment methods, each of their customers will find something that they will them best. In online, online stores allow its usually only credit card or PayPal payment. The conventional way of payment is usually tough for local customers since they don't have any of the mention for online payments. The Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall introduced Cash on Delivery or simply known as C.O.D. as new way to pay online. In the Philippines, it allowed the untapped market to be tapped by them. As a matter of fact, it is the majority of the local market in the Philippines. It has helped Ecommerce thrive more than ever with the tapping of this huger market in the Philippines.
