Lazada Philippines: Exponential growth in Ecommerce

Naturally, it is only normal that most of our time we are usually connected online. No matter if it is for work or for school purposes, online makes our tasks easier and faster. This had dramatically increased when smartphones exploded in the market wherein a lot of us own one. This immediately increased the number of online users as well as the time they spent online on a daily basis. There's no doubting that online shopping is a rising industry in the Philippines. A couple of years ago, online shopping was just an idea that wasn't highly regarded by local online users.

The rate in the Philippines both offline and online is off the roof in the country. This made online transactions unattractive for most local online users. Initially, local online classified ads were the top websites in the country in the buy and sell industry. It helped the arrival of online malls in the country. In the marketplace industry, a community was created because of these buy and sell websites. It made it hard for local online users to buy what they want online when local online classifieds did not exist yet. It became more of a reference for pricing when they want to buy something. These expanded how online users can be fully maximized.

Various visitors on these kinds of websites go there to buy and sell. Local online users are usually dealing with third party resellers or suppliers, which is exactly the opposite of Ecommerce. Third party resellers and buyers usually does is offline transactions. Group buying websites also had the same influence on the local online users. This strengthens the preparation of local online users for the Ecommerce industry. By the time they arrived in the country, local online users were sort of familiar on how to deal online with Ecommerce websites. One of the factors why local online users considered this is that the reward over throws the risk. Group buy website offered unconventional better deals to local online users. Prices were way lower that local online users struggled to refuse their offered deal.

It was a year ago when website like Lazada arrived in the Philippines. It is actually an online mall venture launched across South East Asia. It is under the German based company Rocket Internet, which is owned by the Samwer brothers. The Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall influenced the Ecommerce industry with its various online payment methods. These online payment methods help customers decide which is more suiting on their payment capabilities. Traditionally, credit card payments and PayPal payment are the most common payment method allowed by conventional online stores.

Both credit card and PayPal payments are usually a problem for local online customers since they don't possess any of the two. They introduced to the local online users about their alternative payment method called Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. This made the untapped market a reachable market audience in the Philippines. This market is actually the majority market in the Philippines. Moreover, by tapping on this market, the Ecommerce have grown exponentially.
