Who wouldn’t want a faster and efficient way of doing things? It truly changed the culture in doing our daily ventures in life. Online shopping phenomenon in the country just keeps on growing every day. It's actually surprising to witness since online shopping is not how it used to dating back two years ago and online users was never a fan of it. One reason is that online and offline scams happen to often in the country. It is why transactions done online is not highly regard by most of the local online users.

Local online classified ads were the website closest to Ecommerce but more on the buy and sell industry. Unintentionally, it helped the local online mall's arrival in the country. Buy and sell websites eventually help build a marketplace community. When online classified weren't available yet, local online users didn't have an option online. It has become a venue for online users to check the price of the item they want before visiting malls. It slowly showed how Internet be diversify by online users to maximize its purpose. It was being used as a medium for local online users to buy and sell.

Ecommerce was very far from this as the local online ads are populated by third party resellers. Transactions are usually done offline. The same goes for group buying websites for the impact it did on local users. They showed the steps for the arrival of the Ecommerce industry. When they arrived in the country, local online users already have experience in online dealing. People consider online shopping since the risk is way lower than the reward. Through group buy websites, local online users had a taste of great deals that is rarely found nowadays. Prices were way lower that local online users struggled to refuse their offered deals.

Just a year ago, Lazada Philippines was launched in the country. It is an online mall available in other countries of South East Asia. It is under Rocket Internet that is owned by the famous Samwer brothers. With the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall’s payment methods, it helped them impact the local Ecommerce in the Philippines. These allow customers to be in control since they get to choose from a lot of payment methods. Unlike conventionally, online stores require only credit card payments online or thru PayPal. This actually hurts the potential of customer pushing through with their orders since most of them can't pay thru these conventional online payments. They introduced Cash on Delivery or simply known as C.O.D. as new way to pay online. It allowed the untapped market to by tap them in the Philippines. It is actually the majority of the population in the country. Moreover, by tapping on this market, the Ecommerce have grown exponentially.
