Before, local online users were
already contented on what Internet can offer to them like communicating and
getting wide information right at their fingertips. But as technology grew and integrated itself
to Internet. The common usage of Internet became more than what it used to.
Looking on the bright side, it actually made our lives much easier than what we
used to. Online shopping is one example that was later on made available
online. In the Philippines, it happen only a couple of years ago. Actually, the
moment Lazada came into the online business picture, online competitors run by
local businessmen showed up while online shopping continued its rise in the
local online market. The growth of Ecommerce in the past was very slow a few
years before they arrived in the country. Online shopping was actually not a
highly regarded option for most users in the past. Second hand items on local
online classified websites are usually preferred by local online users when
they want to buy something.
Brand new seekers conventionally
go to traditional offline malls when they want to buy something. We were
actually raised that way wherein we go to traditional offline malls when we need
to buy something. Choosing online shopping can save the local online customers
some time and money. So how can these help us in our shopping needs? Online
shopping can be done anywhere the local customer is located. No more extra
spending on travel costing since customers will no longer need to go
traditional malls. Lazada wanted to have this issue resolved the local
customers in the Philippines. The online community of the country was actually
hard to tap by online malls. It was probably due majority of the population no
owning a credit card, which is the most common payment method in online. We are just used to not trusting online
transactions immediately. For most of us, we are aware that in online
transactions, frauds and scams may also be possible. We are now entering the
era in the Philippines where Ecommerce is making a mark.
It's quite an amazing feat for
Lazada to achieve what they achieved on Ecommerce in less than a year. Their
recent appearance on TVC from top local TV networks during primetime just shows
how legit and credible they are to the local online customers. A method was formulated by them in order to
break the Ecommerce wall in the country. The Philippines' Online Shopping Mall
offered Cash on Delivery or more known as C.O.D. as an alternative payment
method. This is a payment method that is not usually offered by online
businesses. This is a risky payment method for any online business owners.
Customers are not actually required to pay up front. Instead they can pay once
their orders are delivered at their homes. Once orders are delivered, that's
the only time customers are required to pay in cash. It's a worry-free setup
since customers can hold their money until their orders arrives at their home.
The reason for this is to ensure customers that they won't be scammed if they
deal with them.
