Lazada Philippines Review: Online shopping starting to get noticed by local online users

Ecommerce in the country really had a hard time penetrating the local market in the Philippines as early as the early 2000. Our country was actually one of the late countries to adapt to Ecommerce. Most of cause roots to the acceptance of the local online community to such industry. The mentality of online users was to stay away from any kind of Ecommerce available locally in the country not to mention there are only a few only malls available dating back a couple of years ago. Actually, competition in online malls started to show up and online shopping started to be noticed by local online users ever since Lazada came into the picture in the Philippines. As a matter of fact, Ecommerce was having a hard time in penetrating the local online market just a few years back.

For most local online users, online shopping is not highly considered option for them. As for the majority of the local online users, whenever they want to buy second hand items they usually go to local online classified ads. Traditional mall are usually the go-to source of customers who wants to buy brand new items. It's pretty normal to see since most of us grew up visiting traditional offline malls when we need something. Time and money can actually be saved if only local consumers choosing online shopping over traditional offline shopping. So why do we need to choose online shopping nowadays? They can shop online as they please, wherever that may be. It can actually save consumers more money on gas expense since they don't need to go location of traditional malls.

It is one of the issues that Lazada was facing when they established their online mall website in the country. It's actually hard for any online mall to tap the currently untapped market in online of the Philippines. Most of the populations in the country are actually non credit cardholders; therefore they are unable to pay online. We can't just rely on trusting online transactions right away. It's no secret that we know the existence of online scams and frauds. In the Philippines, online shopping is actually an industry that is on the verge to rise. They contributed dearly to the Ecommerce industry in less than two years of existence in the country.

They just recently showed up on TVC on top local channels in the country during its primetime, which shows how credible they are. What did they do to break the Ecommerce limitation in the country? They introduced Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. as an alternative payment method to their customers. It's an online payment option that is not offered by online stores usually. This payment method is risky for any online business. It is not a requirement for their online customers to pay right away with this payment method. Once orders are delivered at the customer's address, that's the only time they will need to pay in cash. Customers can hold into their money up until their orders arrived at their address. The goal of Lazada is to make sure that their customers can trust them with this payment method.
