Online
usage has becoming in demand for the past few years. It went from Information
source to communication to now shopping. It is pretty clear that Internet truly
revolutionized how we can live our lives much faster and efficient. There’s
nothing wrong with that if you ask me, if it can make our lives much better,
why not? The trend in online nowadays is online shopping, which is currently on
the rise in the Philippines. Just a couple of years ago, shopping online was a
risk to most of us a couple of years ago. Most of the frauds and scams happen
online beside offline in the Philippines. As a result, everyone in the country
always reconsiders transactions online. Local online classified websites were
the premiere local website for most local online users in the buy and sell
industry. It helped the arrival of online malls in the country. They started
the marketplace community in the country.
During
the time local online classified websites didn't exist, local online users
didn't know where to go in online. Online users are using it as their
measurement in pricing. Its purpose was stretch to new lengths and allowed
Internet to be more than what it used to for customers. It was a venue for buy
and sell local online audience. Local online users deal with third party
resellers, unlike in Ecommerce. Offline transactions are usually conducted by
third party resellers on these kind of websites. Group buying websites also has
its fair share for the local online user behavior. They guided the people for
the arrival of Ecommerce in the country. By the time they arrived in the
country, local online users were sort of familiar on how to deal online with
Ecommerce websites. People consider online shopping since the risk is way lower
than the reward. It was hard to find better deals than what online users found
on group buy websites. A lot of deals are being offered way lower than it is
supposed to by group buy websites, making it harder for customers to ignore.
Lazada
Philippines was launched a year ago in the country. It is an online store
venture available in South East Asia. Rocket Internet owned by the Samwer
brothers whom supports them. The Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall
significantly helped the local Ecommerce in the Philippines through their
diverse payment methods. Their payment method gave customers option on which
payment they find more suiting. In online, online stores allow its usually only
credit card or PayPal payment. Both credit card and PayPal payments are usually
a problem for local online customers since they don't possess any of the two.
They first introduced Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. to their customers. It allowed the untapped market to by tapped
them in the Philippines. It is the majority of the local consumer market in the
country. Since the entire market is now open in Internet, it definitely helped
Ecommerce thrive in the country.
