Lazada: A breakthrough in local Ecommerce of the Philippines

Online malls are starting to grow in numbers in the country. Numerous online malls were launched in the country and online shopping started to be a popular option for consumers ever since Lazada arrived in the country. The growth of Ecommerce in the past was very slow a few years before they arrived in the country. Online shopping was just not a popular option for most local online users in the past. Majority of the local online users visit local online classified websites when they are looking for second hand items. When it comes to seeking brand new items, local consumers usually visit traditional offline malls. It is expected from us given that we were raised shopping on traditional offline malls when want to buy something. Picking online shopping over offline shopping can save local online consumers more time and money.

How can online users benefit from doing online shopping instead?  Online shopping can be conducted wherever the customer pleases. It can actually save consumers more money on gas expense since they don't need to go location of traditional malls. It was an issue that was long endured by local customers that this online shopping mall wanted to solve for them. The online community of the country was actually hard to tap by online malls. Credit cardholders in the country are quite few, which makes it almost impossible for some customers to pay online. There are still some questions on the reliability of online transactions. It makes it harder for online users to be convinced since online scams and frauds are just lurking around over the Internet. It’s no secret for local online users even for people who don’t go online pretty often that online scams and frauds happen in online. It’s just the perception established about online shopping in the Philippines. It started on scams that happened in local online classified ads were customers pay in advance via bank deposit only for them to realize later on that their orders won’t arrive and that they have been scammed.

The Ecommerce industry is now getting recognized in the local online platform. In fairness to the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall, it only took them an over a year to establish themselves in the local Ecommerce. They even showed up on TVC at top local channels during their primetime to show how credible they are to their customers. They formulated a solution in order to break the Ecommerce silence in the country. They introduced Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. as an alternative payment method to their customers. It's a payment method that is not just offered typically by online malls. This is a risky payment method for any online business owners. This particular payment method doesn’t require online customers to pay right away. They will only need to pay cash once they received their orders in real time. Customers will be satisfied to know that they won't be scammed since they can keep their money up until their order arrived at their home. Their intention is tell their customers that shopping on their mall won't lead them to be scammed.
