It’s
actually a challenge for any business to penetrate the Ecommerce of the
Philippines during the days. The local online users were just not used to
shopping online. For them, shopping online put them to a lot of risks. Besides,
not everyone can pay via online in the country. Forms are usually filled with
personal information and require us to submit our credit card details that
expose us to hackers. Other countries face difficulties in dealing with online
payments since they are not familiar with it.
For
anyone who is new to paying online, it may require to take an extra effort on
how to properly pay online and make sure you do it right. A single mistake may
cost you a lot in your billing. It actually takes more days for wrong billing
to be processed in online, which is a pain to anyone. It's quite easy. You get
what you paid for in real time. In this digital modern era, other options
showed up online. Online shopping for instance is an option now available. Time
and energy can now be preserved since we no longer need to go to malls just to
shop.
For
online shopping, you will only need Internet access and an Internet capable
device. All you need to do to know what is being offered by online malls is to
check their website. In the Philippines, it's actually different. Online
shopping almost didn't exist then. Most of us are unable to pay online since
they are not credit card owners. Ecommerce hard grew then as an industry.
Ecommerce was an industry that is really hard to penetrate. It made it easier
for the penetration of Ecommerce when website like Lazada arrived. Since they
arrived, they made online shopping as a possible option the local online
community.
Through
C.O.D. or Cash on Delivery, this allows even non-credit card owners to still
shop online on the Lazada Online website. All the customers need to do is leave
their shipment address and name when they order at the Philippines’ Online
Shopping Mall thru Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. Only once they deliver their
customer's orders that they require to be paid. Cash on Delivery in online is
actually first introduced by them. Actually, Cash on Delivery is already known
in the country, but this was the first time offered online in which it helped
the local Ecommerce industry. It helped us understand on how online shopping
can make it far easier for us. Since they arrived in the country, other
competitors eventually showed up. Now that we can shop either by online or offline,
this gives us more options. Lazada continues to make our online shopping
experience more convenient than ever. They now allow credit card installment as
a payment method on their website. However, at this point it’s only open to BDO
account holders. I’m pretty sure other banks will follow. They even tied up
recently with MegaLink to give their customers more payment flexibility.
