Lazada PH: Continuously committed to delivering service excellence

It was last year that of the Lazada Venture was launched in the country. It is a venture under the Rocket Internet umbrella owned by the Samwer brothers. It is also available in other countries of South East Asia besides Philippines. Their goal was to penetrate South East Asia with its high potential in Ecommerce. They are actually known to be successful already on other ventures they established on the other side of the country. Other countries are already accustomed to online shopping since they had it since the early days of online in their country.  Ecommerce was a stagnant industry before their arrival here in the Philippines. The local online population was unable to pay online since they don't have their own credit cards.

Most of the population doesn’t have Internet connection. Majority of the population are not credit card owners. Credit cards are the usual payment method accepted by online stores. By allowing C.O.D. or Cash on Delivery as an alternative payment method online, any customer regardless if they have their own credit card or not can still avail online shopping. Personally, I feel like this payment method revolutionized how online shopping works in general. Since their arrival in the country, other offline businesses are now entering the online scene as well. Now that they have showed local businessmen the potential of online business, they followed quickly.

If we go a few years back, Ecommerce was almost stagnant due to a lot local issues. However, for the local online audience who are capable to pay online, they weren't very enthusiastic as well. Even if we still had some online shoppers who can pay the conventional way, most of them don't want it since they are afraid it might get stolen from them. Ecommerce really had a hard time to grow dues to these online woes. It was online classifieds that ruled online. As for online shopping malls, they really had hard time to penetrate the online scene. It made sense since online shopping wasn't locally available then.

What the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall did is they launched full online marketing campaigns when they arrived. It was overwhelming to see their online ads scattered everywhere. It quickly helped their brand stick to the Filipinos. From their customer's perspective, they manage to be on the top because of their overall online shopping service to their customers. Aside from their Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. payment method, they also offer free delivery availability. It also comes with manufacturer's warranty that traditional malls offer as well. It only gives them positive points on their brand as they show their customers that they still want to improve on their service. Despite having a solid online service, which they also learned along the way, they continue to look for ways to make it way easier for their customers. They even offered installment payment method, which is very unique for an online store. However, this is only open to BDO account holders at the moment.
