The impact of Ecommerce in the country

Internet business or Ecommerce was quite low in the country for the past couple of years. Not all local online users were into dealing online to begin with. Online transactions don’t have a good reputation in the local online space. Good thing that things quickly turned for the Ecommerce industry. The moment Lazada came into the online business picture, online competitors run by local businessmen showed up while online shopping continued its rise in the local online market. Actually, Ecommerce was a struggling in the industry prior to their arrival in the country.

Shopping online was actually a disregarded option for most local online users then. As for the majority of the local online users, whenever they want to buy second hand items they usually go to local online classified ads. Customers who want to buy brand new items often visit traditional malls. Offline malls are actually part of our culture as we grew up visiting them when we want to buy something. Time, energy and money can be saved if local online consumers go with online shopping. How can online users benefit from doing online shopping instead? Local customers can actually shop anywhere you want with online shopping. Usual extra-spent cash on visiting traditional malls will now be saved with online shopping.

They wanted to have this issue resolved the local customers in the Philippines. It was difficult for online malls to tap the local online market of the country. It was simply hard due to the fact the only the minority of the population owns their own credit card, which is the main payment method when it comes to online. We can't just rely on trusting online transactions right away. We have certain standards or security issue to look after to. This is only common as the Internet is an exposed platform among many others to online opportunist like hackers.

With Internet, online frauds and scams will always be present in online transactions. We are actually on the verge of Ecommerce rise in the country. In just less than a year, the Philippines’ Online Shopping Mall was able to establish themselves in the local Ecommerce industry. They even showed up on TVC at top local channels during their primetime to show how credible they are to their customers.

Given the limitations in Ecommerce, how did they solve it? Cash on Delivery or C.O.D. payment method as offered by them as an alternative payment. This is a payment method that is not usually offered by online businesses. The reason behind is that not all-online business will risk their business for this payment method. With Cash on Delivery they are not required to pay right away online. Once orders are delivered at the customer's address, that's the only time they will need to pay in cash. This enables customers to keep their money up until their orders are handed over to them in real time. The intention is to give their customers the impression that they won't be scammed.
